Wednesday

Morning … finally, all maths paper over, including SPM Add Maths. Totally no tuition for 2 weeks or so. I m redundant without my classes. Wonder what I will do if I m to retire early as I planned? Hehe …

Bowling

Last night I played three games — league, for SHADOW’s team. Just for the fun and friendship sake, I m back into the CPS league. I helped the team to win against Nora’s team. I beat Nora(2nd best female player in Sabah!!) 3-1. Hehe.

Sat 15th Nov

Morning … it has been a while since the last time i jot something here. Yeah, I was very busy with my trading(and writings there) … and especailly it is a school holiday, so I hv more time to READ and study/analyse the charts/graphs. Interestingly, I m thinking of making these research as my Master’s project, IF i m going to do it …

Putting that at the back of my mind, I m very disappointed with Liverpool’s performance ..,. they lost to Spurs twice!! Playing against WestBrom is not counted and if tmr they cant win, they can forget about the top two spot, yet again(before x’mas). So, no good news from Liverpool, just yet.

As for my tuitions, I m taking a break as students are having exams. I m so used to be busy with classes, and currently I m so ‘free’ that I spend my hours monitoring markets!! KLSE, STI or HSI.

Last Sat was a little interesting as I accompanied Mag to Le Meridian(yes, we hv one in KK but …. err … it looks like 3-star hotel, in the midst of markets, busy narrow Sinsuarn area … congested, dirty place) for a parenting talk organised by Mead-Johnson. My son surely enjoy it the most, and I enjoyed the view into the see … not forgetting the nice food. Hehe

At the school front, not much happening as A-level and SAM exams is still going-on. I need to complete my proposal for the new campus’s International Student Unit. I wont be in charge next year, and i do hope to pull out of Rotaract club too(like the community service part but dislike the overly socialising part). Until I decide if i m taking my Master in UMS, i shall be ‘free’ …

Bowling — I played the 9-pin tap final, but I played so badly(tho being one of the top seeds) that I m not even in top 10(of 48 bowlers). Never mind … my mind was on trading, actually. There is an up-coming 3-6-9 tournament at the end of the month and most probably I will give it a skip.

CANBERRA (Reuters) - An Australian holiday resort will hold a month-long, nude "anything goes" party to combat an expected economic downturn, media reports said on Thursday.

"Tough economic times call for stiff measures," Tony Fox, the owner of the White Cockatoo resort in Mossman, in tropical Queensland state, told the Courier-Mail newspaper.

"It will be a hedonism resort, where anything goes for a month. It doesn’t take rocket science to work out what it means," Fox said, naming March as the risque party month.

The controversial "clothes optional" resort made headlines three years ago when police were called to end partner-swapping parties after a swathe of public complaints.

"You’ve got to wonder what sort of people go and why. Where is the moral code of behavior and how do you stop jealousies and fights?" Cairns Catholic Bishop James Foley said after Fox’s announcement.

But local regional Mayor Val Schier said she was not opposed to the event as long as no laws were broken.

"People in tropical north Queensland are extraordinarily creative," Schier said. "It is tough economic times and as long as it is with consenting adults, then there is no problem."

Australia’s tourism in industry is being hit hard by global economic turmoil with official figures showing a 7.6 percent decline in overseas visitors in September.

Industry leaders expect holiday bookings may drop by up to a third in early 2009 and are planning a new international advertising campaign to coincide with the movie "Australia" starring Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman.

Fox said his resort was almost fully booked for the month-long rainforest party.

Ali Rustam joke (LMAO!!)

The scene - March 2009. Datuk Seri Mohd. Ali Bin Mohd. Rustam has just won the Deputy President post in the UMNO elections. By convention, he has also been appointed to be the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia . Soon after, criticism began to mount on his credentials as Deputy Prime Minister. Amongst those criticisms are that he lacks knowledge in foreign relations and the economy and also of his poor command of the English language.
In order to dispel those criticisms, an interview was arranged with American news company Bloomberg. Here is the transcript of that interview.
Interviewer: Good evening, you’re with me, Condelezza Cruz on a special interview with Mr. Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, the new deputy prime minister of Malaysia . We will be asking his views on a number of pertinent issues in Malaysia and the world. First of all Mr. Ali Rustam, congratulations on being elected as Deputy President of the United Malays National Organization or UMNO, a part of the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition.
Ali Rustam: Tenkiu very much. Actuallyyyy… I want to correct you. I am actuallyyy a ‘Datuk Seri’. You know ‘Datuk Seri’? It’s a title we give in Malaysia . Like the ‘Sir’ that your Queen give you. But we got a lot of titles, got Datuk, Datuk Seri, Tan Sri and oso Tun.
Interviewer: My humblest apologies, Datuk Seri. And I believe that you are referring to the knighthood awarded by the His Majesty the Queen of England . However, Bloomberg is an American company.
Ali Rustam: Amerika? Sorry, sorry, you all look the same. Of course, Amerika. Oh you got Obama right? Obama is good! He is negro but he become President. Goodlah like that. Amerika now good, hopefully doesn’t become setan anymore. You know setan? We Muslims believe got Setan. Devil. Setan very bad. Amerika oso very bad last time, like devil. Now maybe with Obama Amerika can become good.
Interviewer: Yes, Mr. Obama is the first African American president of the United States .
Ali Rustam: Yeah, his father is negro, right?
Interviewer: (ignoring the ‘negro’ remark) It’s interesting Datuk Seri that you brought up Mr. Obama as the first black American president. Can you ever see the same thing happening in Malaysia ?
Ali Rustam: No, no, no, Malaysia don’t have negros. Indians have lah.
Interviewer: Can an ethnic Indian become the prime minister then? Or an ethnic Chinese?
Ali Rustam: No, no, no, cannot! Only Melayu can become PM. You see, the Malaysia is last time owned by the Malays Only later the Indians and Chinese come. We take them in, of course. We got this social contract between the races. They cannot become PM, of course. In Malaysia we got ketuanan Melayu, you know?  You know ketuanan Melayu?
Interviewer: Yes, I am familiar with the concept of ‘ketuanan Melayu’, or Malay supremacy.
Ali Rustam: Yes, yes, Malays are supremacy. Malaysia used to be tanah Melayu you see? Now it is Malaysia , but still belong to the Malays. You see, you must understand, Malays have our own ajenda. The Chinese and Indians must understand. They are Malaysian oso, but they cannot lebih-lebih, you see?
Interviewer: So it’s impossible to see a non-Malay PM in Malaysia ?
Ali Rustam: Not impossible-lah. Nothing is impossible. But cannot lah. Like I said, Malays have got our own ajenda. The Chinese and Indians oso got thier ajenda. So we got to compromise lah. You white people won’t understand.
Interviewer: Actually Datuk Seri, I am Hispanic.
Ali Rustam: Why you panic?
Interviewer: Hispanic. It’s alright Datuk Seri. Moving on, with the world being embroiled in the global financial crisis, what steps will Malaysia take to buffer the effects?
Ali Rustam: Buffer means what?
Interviewer: To cushion the effects.
Ali Rustam: Oh, kusyen. Actuallyyyy… this ekonomi question all you don’t ask me. The Finance Minister is Datuk Najib, our PM. Or you can ask the mamak guy, what’s his name? Oh Nor Yaacop. Ekonomi is not my portfolio. I am ketua menteri Melaka. I know about tourism. You know Melaka?
Interviewer: It is a state in the Federation of Malaysia, am I correct?
Ali Rustam: Correct! Goodlah you, you know Melaka. You must already watch the Shah Rukh Khan movie One Two Ka Four right? Good movie right? You know, we give Datuk to Shah Rukh Khan? He told me he is very happy, he said he will come to Melaka always. We oso thinking of naming a street after him. Jalan Shah Rukh Khan. Probably in those DAP areas.
Interviewer: Can I just pick up on what you said. You mentioned the Democratic Action Party or DAP, part of the opposition coalition of Pakatan Rakyat, or People’s Alliance . Last year, the oppositon have made siginificant inroads during the 12th General Elections. Can you share with us your thoughts on why this occured.
Ali Rustam: Actuallyyy… these opposition they lie to the people. They say that UMNO is bad. We are not bad. We are good! We lead Malaysia for 51 years you know! You see, Malaysia now very developed! They won  a lot because they lie to people. But I think now the people understand, the people realize that only UMNO and Barisan Nasional can take care of Malaysia.
Interviewer: But you cannot deny that their influence have increased, especially under the leadership of Mr. Anwar Ibrahim.
Ali Rustam: Anwar? He is big liar. He lie to the people. he said last year September 16 he can make the government, but don’t have! We still the government! No one believes him. You know, he got big problems already. You know he has court case? I don’t want to say anything lah, but a guy said that Anwar sodomized him. I don’t want to say anything about that lah. But the guy swear on the Quran that Anwar did it. Swearing is not a small thing you know!
Interviewer: …
Ali Rustam: But like I said, I don’t want to say anything about that. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. I tell you what I think later, okay?
Interviewer: … Moving on, as the new deputy prime minister, what is your vision for the future of Malaysia .
Ali Rustam: Vision? Oh you mean Vision 2020. That one last time our former PM, Tun Mahathir, you know him?
Interviewer: Yes, Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohammad.
Ali Rustam: Good, you know! So last time Tun came up with vision 2020. Wawasan Dua Puluh Dua Puluh, we say in Malay. And then you know Pak Lah become PM. You know Pak Lah?
Interviewer: Yes Datuk Seri. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the former PM.
Ali Rustam: So Pak Lah came and he extended vision 2020. So now vision 2020 is in 2050.
Interviwer: So its now vision 2050?
Ali Rustam: No, no, no, you whites don’t understand. It’s still vision 2020, but in 2050. But now that Datuk Seri Najib is the PM, I dunno whether its still in 2050 or 2020. But to answer your question, yes, I have vision 2020.
Interviwer: … That is all the time we have for this interview. Once again Datuk Seri, congratulations on being the deputy UMNO President, and congratulations on being appointed as the deputy prime minister. All the best to you and your country.
Ali Rustam: Your welcome. This interview shown on Astro, right? What time?
Interviwer: … We’ll inform you later.

Bowling vs Trading

Have you ever been to bowling alley and play a game or two? If u never, ever wonder WHY NOT?

Have you ever been ‘trading’ and buy a stock or two? If u never, ever wonder WHY NOT?

Assuming you have(otherwise, WHY would u be reading my trading blog??!), have you ever been LUCKILY strike(all ten pins down in one throw. By the way, if u are wondering how many pins there is in a rack, it is TEN, that is why they called it 10-pin bowling)? What is your first reaction when you STRIKE? You will jump with joy(like a monkey, I would say … and disrupting me playing on the lane beside! Ha).

Assuming you have, have you ever LUCKILY bought a counter and WIN the trade? Is your re-action similar of getting a strike? Ha!

But, many more throws you dont get strikes, left a few … or many beginners will throw it into ‘longkang’. They NEVER ask WHY!! Ever wonder why they NEVER ask WHY?

But, many more trades you dont win big, lose a bit … or many beginners will throw their money into KLSE ‘hole’. They NEVER ask WHY!! Ever wonder why they NEVER ask WHY?

They look around … and they saw this youngster who know how to CURL(we called it hook) the ball into the pins(pockets, actually) … they will think, WOW he knows how to CURL the ball. That is cool … he must be very good!! Haha. So stupidly naive!

They look around … and they found this blog, who know how to write(we called it blogging) about the trades … they will think, WOW he knows how to write a trading blog. That is cool … he must be very good!! Haha. You are naive if u think so.

In their mind, they will be thinking … hey, if i know how to curl the ball like him, I could play good too. And i can impress my friends!! I will learn just that, it cant be THAT difficult.

In their mind, they will be thinking … hey, if i know how to write a trading blog like him, I could trade well too. And I can impress many around!! I will learn just that, writing only ma … won’t be THAT difficult.

So, they quietly read some bowling books or watching few bowling videos. Ah ha!! They said I just need to release my thumb at 10 o’clock and it will curl by itself!!

So, they quietly read some trading books or reading some blogs. Ah ha!! They said I just need to mention a few trading jargons and it will SEEN as impressive!!

They will go to the bowling alley, and try out the techniques. After a few frustrating throws, the ball doesnt curl, and they even hurt their fingers. Damn. Stupid book … how could they NOT telling me the TRUTH. I just want to get a strike, who cares what bowling is!! Dont tell me about pockets, pre-shots, 5-steps, where to stand, which boards to throw, bending my sliding kness(what!! Bend knee for WHAT), balancing, follow-through, breathing techniques, … to increasing the leverages, carrying, messengers, oil-conditions(short long), gutters … etc etc … STOP!!! I just want to get a STRIKE, WHY u are telling me all these!! Teach me how to CURL the ball. I know what 10 o’clock thumb release is, ok?? Without realising, frustration getting into your head, you will NEVER bowl well ….

They will go to trading ground, and try out the trading system they read. After a few frustrating trades, the trade doesnt work, and they even hurt their pockets. Damn. Stupid book … how could they NOT telling me the TRUTH. I just want to earn some money, who cares what trading is!! Dont tell me about volumes, stop-loss, averaging, doji, economics, inflations, interest rates, supply-demand, commodities prices, indicators, xxxx , etc etc. STOP!! I just want to get a WIN in my trade, WHY are you telling me all these!! Teach me how to win a TRADE, better still just tell me WHAT to BUY. I know what buying a stock is, ok? Without realising, frustration getting into your head, you will NEVER trade well ….

And they wonder WHY they never be able to beat that old-man who is playing a straight unfancy ball, using 10 pounds yet winning small tournaments, oftenly!!

And they wonder WHY they never be able to beat that un-educated old-man who is trading without any fancy softwares, using common sense yet winning in small trades, oftenly!!

TEH : I m a bowler … I used 2 yrs to decide if I m seriously taking up bowling, then I registered with a bowling club in Cheras(one-five), playing with the experienced bowlers, learning how to bowl well. I read many bowling books for 3 years … and without fail, asking coaches around and share their views. Today, I may no longer very active in competitive tournaments but with GOOD strong foundation, I could easily beat those majorities. So, personally I m applying what I hv achieved in bowling for my trading. I see the parallel. :)

Friday

Morning … tho i m having holiday, I do still come to school everyday. Well, i m monitoring markets!

Today will be the last paper for Maths - paper 7(statistics). Then, next week i wont be here. Will also take a break from market … totally free!! Hehe

As i hv not blog for a while(i m currently active blogging at //cpteh.blogspot.com) I hv too many things accumulated. Never mind … but I need to note that USA is having a BLACK OBAMA as their president. WOW!! In our IMMATURE Malaysia’s GOV, chinese will NEVER be allowed to have any say in determining who our PRIME MINISTER!! Look … only 191 UMNO delegates to vote for UMNO president, in which AUTOMATICALLY(NO LAW STATING THAT, IDIOTS!!) becoming our Prime Minister. Even within UMNO, president UN-OPPOSED. Have you ever wonder WHY? Haha

Ok OK …. on the better side, Ceo, VP and me(HUH?? ME??) were interviewing a young lady(ex-IS student) applying to teach LAW. My comments are confidential la … hmm …

Other than that, I m disappointed with Liverpool’s performance. Also market performance. Sigh.

SAM Maths paper was over yesterday too. So … it is a long holiday for me till end of month!! Yeah!!

5pm … I m off soon. Sudeenly, I m almost very free!! Exams was over, i m having holiday now. Will write in this blog, as i hv plenty accumulated inside my small head!! haha.

Well, for a time being, I m busy learning to trade and write at my trading blog. Drop to visit me if u wish to know/share about Economics/Financial/Business/Trading/Investment … that is my main focus at the moment.
